It's Just Sour Grapes!
All-Femme Romeo & Juliet
Directed by Genny Yosco
Part of the 2022 So Many Shakespeares Festival
In the streets of Verona, yet another brawl breaks out between the servants of the feuding noble families of Capulet and Montague. After citizens outraged by the constant violence beat back the warring factions, the ruler of Verona attempts to prevent any further conflicts between the families by decreeing death for any individual who disturbs the peace in the future. Romeo of house Montague and Juliet of house Capulet meet shortly after, and rapidly fall in love. Knowing that their families would never approve, they marry in secret, which only leads to more strife.
...Look honestly, you know how Romeo & Juliet ends, right? We don't need to explain this show further, yeah?
